Throw pillows collect dust mites and odors – but many people never clean them for fear of damage.
Check the label first:
- Machine washable: Gentle cycle, cold water, mild detergent. Dry on low with two tennis balls to maintain shape.
- Spot clean only: Damp cloth with dish soap and cold water. Blot, do not rub. Air dry.
- Dry clean only: Follow the label – water can permanently damage these fabrics.
For removable covers, wash covers separately. Put inserts in the dryer on low with a dryer sheet for 20 minutes to kill dust mites and remove odors.
