Fridge odors transfer to food – especially dairy and eggs, which absorb smells easily.

  1. Pull everything out and check for expired or leaking items.
  2. Wipe all interior surfaces with 1 tablespoon baking soda per cup of warm water.
  3. Clean the door gasket – residue in the rubber seal is a major odor source.
  4. Place an open box of baking soda in the fridge and freezer. Replace every 3 months.

For persistent odors: a bowl of fresh coffee grounds inside overnight absorbs odors more aggressively than baking soda.
