Pet hair on upholstery, floors, and clothing requires different tools for each surface.
- Upholstery: A rubber glove run over the fabric in one direction bunches hair for easy pickup. Rubber pet hair remover rollers also work well.
- Hard floors: An electrostatic dry mop picks up pet hair better than a broom, which scatters it.
- Carpet: Vacuum in two directions. A carpet rake before vacuuming loosens embedded hair.
- Clothing: A lint roller is fastest. Slightly damp rubber gloves also work in a pinch.
Brush pets regularly – the hair you remove at the source is hair that never reaches your floors.
