A shower head clogged with mineral deposits doesn’t just look grimy – it reduces water pressure and uneven spray. This is especially common in southern Utah and northern Arizona where hard water is the norm.

Fix it without removing the shower head:

  1. Fill a plastic bag with undiluted white vinegar.
  2. Submerge the shower head in the bag and secure it with a rubber band around the neck.
  3. Leave it for at least an hour (overnight for heavy buildup).
  4. Remove the bag and run the shower on hot for 1-2 minutes to flush the loosened deposits.

Use an old toothbrush to scrub any remaining mineral spots around the nozzles.

Do this once a month and your water pressure will stay consistently strong.
