The TV remote is one of the most bacteria-covered objects in the average home – and almost nobody cleans it.

  1. Remove the batteries.
  2. Shake to dislodge debris from button gaps.
  3. Use a dry toothbrush to clear buildup around buttons.
  4. Dampen a microfiber cloth with 70% isopropyl alcohol – just damp, not soaking.
  5. Wipe all surfaces including the back and sides.
  6. Use a cotton swab with alcohol for crevices around buttons.
  7. Let dry completely before replacing batteries.

Never spray liquid directly onto a remote – it seeps under buttons and damages the circuit board.
